Not every workload belongs in the same cloud.
Ageing infrastructure brings cost, risk and another cycle of maintenance and renewal. But moving everything to public cloud isn’t always the right answer either, particularly when you need predictable costs, UK data location, resilience and greater operational control.
The WCP is our managed UK sovereign community cloud, designed to provide a resilient home for critical workloads without requiring you to own and maintain the underlying shared infrastructure. We manage and continuously monitor the platform infrastructure, hypervisor and management plane from UK data-centre locations.
If you’re replacing ageing infrastructure, moving existing virtual workloads or building a wider hybrid-cloud strategy, the WCP lets you modernise at a pace that works for your organisation.
The WCP brings together virtualised compute, enterprise all-flash storage and networking, with configurable connectivity, security, backup and recovery services within one joined-up solution.
Start with the workload, not a predetermined cloud destination.
We’ll review your current environment, dependencies, supportability, connectivity, costs and recovery requirements to help identify the right approach.
There’s no obligation, and you’ll get practical, evidence-led recommendations.
Platform services are delivered from UK data-centre locations, supporting solutions where UK data location is required.
N+1 architecture uses redundant compute, storage and networking components so the platform doesn’t depend on any single component.
Access enterprise compute and all-flash storage without buying and maintaining the shared infrastructure yourself.
Resources are sized to an agreed design and delivered through a managed subscription, making infrastructure budgets easier to plan.
Customer environments are logically separated through network segmentation and routing controls, with additional managed security services available where required.
Connect the WCP with private networks, internet services, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, customer infrastructure and wider cloud environments.
The underlying platform is continuously monitored, with events reviewed 24/7 by our security operations centre.
We manage the underlying infrastructure, hypervisor and management plane, reducing the day-to-day platform management burden on your internal team.
Add backup, retention, additional copies, immutability, replication and recovery options according to the requirements of your workloads.
Move suitable workloads in phases, supported by requirements gathering, solution design, migration planning, testing and transition into service.
Modernise critical infrastructure without giving up the control, cost visibility or operational clarity your organisation needs.
Gain clearer visibility of where agreed workloads run, how the platform is operated and where responsibilities sit.
Move away from repeated hardware refresh cycles and consume defined infrastructure resources through a managed subscription service.
Size resources around an agreed design, giving you greater budget visibility without relying entirely on variable consumption.
Spend less time managing the underlying infrastructure, hypervisor and platform lifecycle, creating more space to focus on applications and business priorities.
Design availability, backup, replication and recovery around the criticality of each workload rather than applying the same approach everywhere.
Start where change will make the greatest difference, prove the approach and expand when there is a clear business and technical reason to do so.
Connect the WCP with your existing networks, on-premises infrastructure, colocation and wider cloud services, helping put each workload where it makes the most sense.
Clear ownership matters as much as the technology underneath it.
We manage the shared compute, storage, networking, management and virtualisation components through to the hypervisor layer as standard.
Responsibility for guest operating systems, applications, customer configurations, security tooling and data remains with you unless one of our managed services is included within the agreed solution.
Backup, disaster recovery, security and additional support are aligned to the services selected within your agreed solution. That gives you a clearly defined operating model built around your workloads, internal capabilities and required level of support.
More than somewhere to host your workloads.
The WCP brings together our cloud, connectivity, security, backup and managed-service capabilities around one UK cloud platform, so you get a more joined-up approach to designing, transitioning and operating critical workloads.
Bring infrastructure, connectivity, security, backup, disaster recovery and managed services together around your requirements instead of managing each element in isolation.
We assess workload requirements, dependencies, supportability, connectivity and resilience before recommending where a workload should run.
Platform and support boundaries are defined around your chosen operating model, giving both teams a clear understanding of ownership.
The WCP can be considered for business-critical workloads moving away from ageing or inflexible infrastructure, applications requiring UK data location, workloads where predictable infrastructure costs matter, and suitable existing or specialist applications that need a controlled managed environment. Suitability is confirmed through technical and commercial assessment.
No. The WCP is another platform choice within a hybrid-cloud strategy. Public cloud, private cloud, the WCP, colocation and on-premises infrastructure can all have a role. Our approach is to match each workload to the environment that provides the right balance of cost, control, performance, resilience and flexibility.
We manage the underlying cloud platform through the hypervisor and management layer. Support can be extended into guest operating systems and applications through additional service options.
Data protection and recovery are designed around your workload requirements. The WCP supports configurable backup retention, additional copies, immutability, replication and recovery options where selected as part of the agreed solution.
Suitable legacy and specialist applications can be considered subject to technical review, risk assessment and approval. Additional security, isolation or support requirements may apply.
The WCP operates across three UK data-centre locations. The location and resilience design used for your workload will depend on your agreed solution.
The WCP provides defined platform availability service levels based on the agreed single-site or multi-site design. Platform availability is measured against our managed hypervisor layer and doesn’t automatically extend to individual virtual machines, operating systems, applications, security appliances or third-party services. Your applicable service level will be defined in your service schedule and agreed solution.
Yes. The WCP can integrate with MPLS, SD-WAN, private circuits, VPN and internet connectivity, as well as customer infrastructure and wider cloud environments. The exact arrangement forms part of your solution design.
We’ll review your current environment, application dependencies, supportability, connectivity, backup and recovery requirements before defining the appropriate target design and transition approach. It starts with a no-obligation workload review.
Your cloud strategy shouldn’t start with a predetermined destination.
If cost, ageing infrastructure, resilience or operational complexity are putting pressure on critical workloads, let’s look at your options together.
Our cloud specialists will help you understand what should stay, move or modernise, and whether the WCP is the right fit within your wider cloud strategy.
