Three reasons to invest in an AI network automation solution

AI network concept.

Managing networks today can feel like a game of whack-a-mole—just as you resolve one issue, another emerges. In fact, your team likely spends over 70% of their time identifying and diagnosing problems rather than preventing them. And with Gartner reporting that IT downtime costs an average of £4,000 per minute—potentially even more for larger organisations—the stakes are high.

If this sounds familiar, an AI-powered network automation could be the solution. By addressing three key challenges—limited visibility, operational complexity, and unplanned incidents—you can take a proactive approach to network management. That’s why we’ve partnered with network automation pioneer NetBrain to help businesses streamline operations, enhance reliability, and reduce downtime.

1. Experience end-to-end visibility

Today’s networks are complex. Hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud networks consist of many interconnected and disconnected systems and solutions used by different, often siloed, teams across a company. This causes visibility issues.

If you can’t see what’s happening across your network, you can’t prevent unplanned incidents or remedy performance issues. In short, limited visibility causes blind spots – an issue faced by 80% of organisations.

With an AI network automation solution, you can gain a holistic view of your network, including physical, virtual and hybrid or multi-cloud environments. Your blind spots will be eradicated, and you’ll be able to make more informed network management decisions.

In fact, you can reduce troubleshooting time by 85%.

NetBrain makes this simple with the following features:

  • Dynamic reporting: generate dynamic inventory reports and maps for multi-vendor, hybrid-cloud environments. Automate triage, define response and restore services faster.

  • Live dashboards: real-time, network-wide dashboards for incidents, changes, and assessments.

2. Simplify your operations

It may seem obvious but complex networks are difficult to manage. Poor network efficiency means your teams will be spending valuable time manually identifying and resolving customer enquiries or network issues.

The good news is that NetBrain's AI network automation solution can quickly make an inefficient network efficient by automatically converting network knowledge into actionable automation.

Automating routine tasks, configuration changes and compliance checks, will limit human error and reduce time taken on manual tasks by 90%.

NetBrain can help you simplify your operations with:

  • Extensive automation library: access a comprehensive library of pre-built automated operations for common network tasks.

  • Real-time hybrid network digital twin: simulate a digital twin of the network, including devices, cloud services, hybrid topology, traffic flow and intended outcomes.

3. Reduce unplanned incidents

A lack of visibility into your network puts it at risk of unplanned incidents occurring and causing downtime—costing you time, resources and potentially damaging your reputation. And if your teams are battling inefficiency and a lack of visibility, it’s difficult for these vulnerabilities to be remedied.

We’re here to help. With continuous network performance assessment, you can monitor the health of your network at all times so any problems can be immediately spotted and remedied before they have an impact. You’ll also be able to reduce or remove change related incidents by simulating changes in advance.

The result? You’ll reduce unplanned downtime by 75%.

NetBrain simplifies network health with:

  • Real-time dynamic documentation: define standards and generate real-time documentation, ensuring that your network 100% aligns with standards.
  • Third-party API integration: integrate third-party APIs for event-triggered automated ticket diagnosis and resolution.

Prepare for the future

With an AI network automation solution, your teams won’t just be able to fix problems faster, they’ll avoid them altogether.

By automating processes that would otherwise require extensive manual effort, your teams can focus on your organisation’s growth. They will be free to explore innovative new approaches and solutions to scale for the future, all without costing your business extra.

NetBrain provides cost-effective, efficient ways to get more out of the infrastructure that powers your business.

From risk to resolution: how Active Assessor helps you stay ahead of Awaab's Law

What does Awaab's Law mean and why does it matter? Damp and mould aren’t just inconvenient maintenance problems - they’re serious risks to tenant health, regulatory compliance, and the reputation of housing providers. Nearly 1 in 7 social homes in England failed to meet the Decent Homes Standard in 2023¹. On top of that, the NHS is estimated to spend £1.4 billion a year treating health issues related to cold, damp housing². And yet, more than half of tenants experiencing condensation, damp or mould don’t report it. Often, they don’t recognise the early signs, or they simply don’t believe they’ll be taken seriously. This silence leaves landlords in the dark and turns small, fixable issues into expensive, high-risk problems. From October, social landlords will be legally required to fix emergency hazards within 24 hours and investigate and repair dangerous damp and mould within set timeframes, under new legislation known as Awaab’s Law. Introduced in memory of two-year-old Awaab Ishak, who tragically died in 2020 after prolonged exposure to mould in his social housing, the law represents a major step toward improving housing safety and quality. It allows tenants to take legal action if landlords fail to comply and will be rolled out in phases, beginning with damp and mould, to ensure effective implementation. This approach aims to deliver meaningful, lasting change while honouring the efforts of Awaab’s family to secure justice. Awaab’s Law also supports the government’s broader plan for change, which includes a commitment to building 1.5 million new homes and delivering the biggest improvement to social and affordable housing in a generation. The challenge: strained teams & outdated systems Most housing providers care deeply about tenant safety. The problem isn’t willingness—it’s capacity. Maintenance teams, IT departments, and customer contact centres are already stretched thin. Spotting early-stage issues requires tools they simply don’t have. Traditional, manual inspections are expensive and slow. Reactive workflows leave little room to get ahead of problems. And despite growing demand for proactive service, only 13% of customers actually receive it. The systems many teams rely on today are fragmented, outdated, and not fit for the pressures of a post-Awaab world. The solution: Active Assessor by 8x8
