Wavenet Wins Award For Business Brilliance

 

Wavenet, a respected provider of telecoms and technology solutions to thousands of businesses across the UK have received the award for ‘Mid-Market Management Team’ at this weeks BVCA Midlands Management Team Awards, produced in association with Grant Thornton UK LLP. The awards, which are the annual celebration of excellence for UK Businesses backed by private equity and venture capital are now in their eleventh year and provide a platform for management teams across the country to demonstrate their vital contribution to the UK economy.

Backed by Beech Tree Private Equity, Wavenet provides unified communication solutions to SMEs across the UK from its head office in Solihull. The award, presented to CEO Bill Dawson, pictured, recognises evidence of bold and authentic leadership, including the development of a strong, progressive culture and wider contribution to society and noticeably, a business which stands out from others within its sector.

 

Judging criteria for this particular award required evidence of proven skilled execution of particular projects including project innovation, acquisition, capital investment, international expansion, and marketing innovation, and was presented to Wavenet as recognition for their overall evidence of growth, including profit growth and returns on exit.

 

Judges’ comments: “Wavenet is a successful buy and build business that has made a series of key strategic bolt-on acquisitions to support the organic growth trajectory. Led by Bill Dawson, the management team has developed a number of specialist products whilst also enabling the business to scale rapidly. The business has made a number of key strategic bolt-on acquisitions to support the organic growth trajectory, whilst also successfully delivering a profit.”

 

The British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) is the industry body for the UK private equity and venture capital industry. The BVCA has over 770 member firms, representing the vast majority of UK-based private equity and venture capital firms and their advisers. The BVCA Awards are the only awards to celebrate the achievements of private equity and venture capital-backed management teams across eight regions in total, each with their own judging panel, and all winners are automatically forwarded to the national final, the results of which will be presented at the BVCA Annual Gala Dinner on Thursday 28th November in London.
