Overview

Buy a single licence on a new subscription before 30 June 2026 to lock in today's price. Fill in the calculator above to see exactly how much you could save by purchasing a single licence before the price increase on 1 July 2026. By doing this, you create a new subscription with a new renewal date at the current pricing. You can then allow your existing licences to run to their expiry. Just before they expire, add those licences to your new subscription. This effectively locks in today's pricing for an additional year on those licences, avoiding the cost increase for a year.

Frequently asked questions

How much are Microsoft 365 prices increasing in July 2026?

Microsoft 365 licence prices are increasing by between 5% and 43% depending on the plan, from 1 July 2026. For example, Microsoft 365 E5 rises from £51.45 to £54.02 per licence per month, Microsoft 365 Business Basic increases from £4.83 to £5.60 (16%), and Microsoft 365 F1 jumps from £1.82 to £2.42 — a 33% rise. Microsoft 365 Business Premium is one of the few plans unaffected.

Can I avoid the Microsoft 365 July 2026 price increase?

Yes. By purchasing a single licence on a new subscription before 30 June 2026, you lock in today's pricing and create a new renewal date at the current rate. You can then let your existing licences run to their natural expiry. Just before they expire, add those licences to your new subscription. This effectively avoids the price increase for a full year on all your licences.

Which Microsoft 365 plans are affected by the July 2026 price increase?

The majority of Microsoft 365 plans are affected. Key increases include Microsoft 365 E3 (13%), Microsoft 365 E5 (5%), Microsoft 365 Business Basic (16%), Microsoft 365 Business Standard (12%), Microsoft 365 F1 (33%), Microsoft 365 F3 (25%), Office 365 E3 (8%), Microsoft Entra ID P1 (16%), and Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 (13%). Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Premium (no Teams) are not changing in price.

How do I use the Microsoft 365 savings calculator?

Simply select your current Microsoft 365 licence type from the dropdown, enter the number of licences you have, and enter your subscription renewal date. The calculator will instantly show you the cost difference per licence, the number of months between your renewal and July 2027, and your total potential saving by locking in today's pricing before the increase on 1 July 2026.

What is the deadline to lock in current Microsoft 365 pricing?

You must purchase a new single-licence subscription before 30 June 2026 to lock in today's pricing. From 1 July 2026, Microsoft's new higher prices will apply to all new subscriptions. Acting before this date means your new subscription — and any licences you later add to it — will be billed at the current lower rate until that subscription's next renewal.

Do I need to cancel my existing Microsoft 365 subscription?

No. You don't cancel your existing subscription — you simply let it run to its natural expiry date. In the meantime, you create a new subscription by purchasing a single licence before 30 June 2026. Just before your existing subscription expires, you add your remaining licences to the new subscription, inheriting its renewal date and the lower pre-increase pricing.

How much could a business with 500 licences save?

It depends on the plan and your renewal date, but the savings can be significant. For example, a business with 500 Microsoft 365 E5 licences renewing in September 2026 would save £2.57 per licence per month across 10 months — a total saving of £12,850. Use the calculator above to see the exact figure for your specific licence type, quantity, and renewal date.
